the core challenge
As the world undergoes technological transitions and globalization, new health threats are emerging, negatively impacting the health of the population. These include the ever-growing rate of non-communicable diseases, which bring a double burden of malnutrition alongside the existing issue of undernutrition (stunting), as well as the effects of climate change. These threats primarily affect vulnerable groups, particularly women, children, and adolescents, as indicated by the high number of unintended and teenage pregnancies, thereby violating their rights to gender equity and sexual and reproductive health. This calls for urgent action to mitigate their impact on the health of the world’s population
